So tired...

Wed Jun 24, 2009, 6:49 PM
Soooooo...yeah. I've been getting more hours at work now, since we're so busy. I keep inheriting more responsibility everyday for the past week too...sigh...so I've been really stressed out. I haven't been able to touch the Dreamweaver book I bought to learn the program yet and have had absolutely no time to paint at night during the week, which is killing me...not even on the computer...that's pretty sad right? So to relieve some of my angst over not being able to paint, I've been busy with my sketchbook again. So far I've posted two new sketches from it and will attempt to do one everyday during lunch. It really helps me decompress from all the stress and drama at work and get me focused again. I am not an office politicking type of person, so drama at work just irks me and stresses me out. Especially when I'm doing my best to keep my head above the flood of last minute jobs and gotta-have-it-right-nows. Is anybody else like this?? It's weird that drawing something calms me down, but it does.

I've been looking for new jobs lately too. I'm hoping I can find a great company to work for and do actual art...instead of pushing paper and doing layout all the time. I think some freelance would really do me some good...keep my mind off of things I can't control. So we'll see. If you're looking for an artist/illustrator, please let me know. I only have one commission in progress right now.:)

Lead if you think you can, follow if you need to. Just get the hell out of my way while you decide.
You're welcome! Keep up the great vintage iron pics! :)
Wynnart, I saw your stuff at the art in the park with the chalk drawings. I don't know if you remember me coming over, but I said that I had a dA account as well and we were talking about how its difficult to get page views if you're not doing anime and such. Anyways I think your art is really inspirational and I'll keep a watch on you!
Yes! I remember. It's really sad but true. Thanks for the watch. I'm really glad you like my art. :D
Thankyou. :butterflytwo:

Yo, Michelle. How's it going down South? We're dealing with snow and cold.... and snow and cold.... and.... snow.... and cold. *sigh* January. Only 2 and 1/2 months to go until Spring. I did so enjoy the Winters in SC.
Where are you now?? Did you move? It's been weirdly cold, then warm, then cold here...all my plants are confused - most have started up and the cold killed them back, so I hope they make it. :( Things are kinda rough...my hours keep getting cut at work and the classes I teach aren't getting enough students to get a "go"...I guess people just don't want to spend money on classes right now with the economy. How're you and Evil doing? ;)
Yeh! Hi-hi! We -did- move. I sent you a message about it when we pulled up stakes last September.

Evil lost his job in June and we didn't find anything to replace it, so we had to move. After being out of work for 2 months, we had two choices; move in with my folks in Utah or move into Stephen's brothers' house in Lexington, KY. Since the house in Lexington was vacant, we were going to do the latter. But suddenly, two days before we were to move, his brother pulled the offer out from under us. It seems his house was going into foreclosure and he hadn't wanted anyone to know so he kept stringing us along. So, with no place to live, we packed up the household into two PODS units and put them in storage in Augusta. We then loaded up the Tucson and Toyota with 2 dogs and 8 cats and headed to Utah via Kentucky (to drop off the cats at Stephen's parents' house.) We now live with my parents and it's not too horribly bad, all in all. Actually, it wound up being the best thing that could have happened to us, although at the time, we were very distraught and utterly stressed out about the whole ordeal.

After we'd been here for a couple of months, Stephen got a job with Sun Products as an assistant manager. The job is better than any other he's had before. He likes the people, the job and the rewards. Life is good!

Stephen also took up his Kung Fu classes again. He hadn't taken classes for about 12 years or so and was excited to find a club that used the same system that he had his 2nd degree black belt in. But, he's getting pretty beaten up. Since we've been here (early September), he's had a broken rib (from sparring) and a sprained wrist (racket ball). Then, last week, a recurring injury popped up on him again. His knee went out of joint and the knee cap dislocated while he was doing a kick during sparring. Of course he collapsed and on his way down his foot rolled, severely spraining his ankle. He's on crutches for a while and the Kung Fu has to wait for a while. Crazy stuff.

I dabble in this and that. I've done a few projects and am in the middle of a rather large one. I've built a railroad tie framed raised garden bed. The hauling of the dirt has been a pain. Wheelbarrow load by wheelbarrow load. The bed is 21 inches deep and has a 12' x 8' perimeter. To do 3 beds, we got 16 tons of screened topsoil delivered. I've got 1 built and planted. Only two more to go before May is over.

It's finally Spring here in the Rockies. I had my first real Winter this year in 8 years. I still don't like it. :P

I guess that pretty much catches you up to date with us. Write and let me know what's up with you and Wynn! Miss you guys... especially when we go to the movies. Hope all is well and we'll talk to you soon.

Your friend,

Lisa
We went to see the new Terminator and were thinking about you guys! We miss you. I'm glad everything's working out for you in Utah though. So far, I pulled out of the gallery because the owner up and left one day - leaving it to her now ex-boyfriend, so I'm looking for a new gallery, I've done a few shows, had minor surgery on my leg and LOL we are in the middle of redoing a flower bed too! The one that came with the house was ALL clay and retained water so badly all the plants were drowning and died!! So William has been building me a wall. He just finished laying it all in the other day so we have to get dirt....a lot of dirt, but definitely not as much as you bought! 16 tons is a lot of dirt...you're gonna scare your neighbors! Lol!! (What are they burying out there?!? :O ) So we're good right now. I finally have more hours at work and that helps with bills...but I'm still looking for a second part time job or more freelance to help pay off some stuff - then we can breath easier. Hope you're doing well!
