I've been trying to get commissions done and some new paintings for the exhibit, so life's been hectic. To add to the chaos, my poor cat had to be put to sleep this week too due to terminal illness, (I miss him horribly) and The doctors think I have "trigger finger" probably from the accident in July...life just loves to throw stuff at you when your down, I guess. The treatment is helping relieve some of the pain in my hand and I have to wear a small splint one one finger, which doesn't thrill me mobility-wise, but I'm hoping they can resolve it enough to get me back on track again...pain-free would be awesome, but realistically, if I could bend my fingers and draw/paint all day without them swelling up - I'd be happy with my little bottle of Advil.

I have an upcoming exhibit with my old friends from De Exhibition De Nus Artistiques! We had an outstanding turnout last time at No. 10 Downing and we're doing it again at USCA (University of South Carolina Aiken) in the Etherredge Center from November 2-24, 2009. There will be a symposium on November 12th from 6-6:45 PM with guest speakers Dr John Elliot, Al Beyer, and Matt Lewis. The Artist Reception will follow until 8:30 PM. Please stop by and say hello! For driving directions, please go to this link: [link]
I'm thinking of doing the Flea Market this year on Fort Gordon...I think it's next weekend or the following one. If I do then I'll try to remember to post it here, I'll have the usual assortment of paintings, drawings, postcards and do portraits on the spot.
Thank you to the few people who came out to the Marietta Street Fest. We were rained out but had a nice welcome, so thanks...maybe it will go better next year.
I've also recently posted basic acrylic painting prices on my main website and have copied them below. If you'd like a painting and the size is not listed, please let me know and I'll quote you. These prices are for the acrylic painting ONLY! (which means the final painting on canvas) I do not transfer rights or licenses on any artwork unless it's created for commercial use and it's usage has been spelled out in a contract in advance. These prices do not include shipping or framing, etc. Be common-sensical please!
PRICES FOR ACRYLIC PAINTING COMMISSIONS:
(Price is for the final painting and does not transfer copyrights or licenses)
8 X 10 - $105
11 X 14 - $200
16 X 20 - $425
18 X 24 - $575
24 X 48 - $1500
I'm also on Georgia's Creative Economies site now too.
Will be posting new stuff hopefully soon. And, as always, most everything on my site is for sale, so if you like it and want to buy it please ask.
thanks for the fav!

Lead if you think you can, follow if you need to. Just get the hell out of my way while you decide.
Evil lost his job in June and we didn't find anything to replace it, so we had to move. After being out of work for 2 months, we had two choices; move in with my folks in Utah or move into Stephen's brothers' house in Lexington, KY. Since the house in Lexington was vacant, we were going to do the latter. But suddenly, two days before we were to move, his brother pulled the offer out from under us. It seems his house was going into foreclosure and he hadn't wanted anyone to know so he kept stringing us along. So, with no place to live, we packed up the household into two PODS units and put them in storage in Augusta. We then loaded up the Tucson and Toyota with 2 dogs and 8 cats and headed to Utah via Kentucky (to drop off the cats at Stephen's parents' house.) We now live with my parents and it's not too horribly bad, all in all. Actually, it wound up being the best thing that could have happened to us, although at the time, we were very distraught and utterly stressed out about the whole ordeal.
After we'd been here for a couple of months, Stephen got a job with Sun Products as an assistant manager. The job is better than any other he's had before. He likes the people, the job and the rewards. Life is good!
Stephen also took up his Kung Fu classes again. He hadn't taken classes for about 12 years or so and was excited to find a club that used the same system that he had his 2nd degree black belt in. But, he's getting pretty beaten up. Since we've been here (early September), he's had a broken rib (from sparring) and a sprained wrist (racket ball). Then, last week, a recurring injury popped up on him again. His knee went out of joint and the knee cap dislocated while he was doing a kick during sparring. Of course he collapsed and on his way down his foot rolled, severely spraining his ankle. He's on crutches for a while and the Kung Fu has to wait for a while. Crazy stuff.
I dabble in this and that. I've done a few projects and am in the middle of a rather large one. I've built a railroad tie framed raised garden bed. The hauling of the dirt has been a pain. Wheelbarrow load by wheelbarrow load. The bed is 21 inches deep and has a 12' x 8' perimeter. To do 3 beds, we got 16 tons of screened topsoil delivered. I've got 1 built and planted. Only two more to go before May is over.
It's finally Spring here in the Rockies. I had my first real Winter this year in 8 years. I still don't like it.
I guess that pretty much catches you up to date with us. Write and let me know what's up with you and Wynn! Miss you guys... especially when we go to the movies. Hope all is well and we'll talk to you soon.
Your friend,
Lisa
